Project Purchaser will be responsible for hands-on job requiring excellent organizational skills; as well as the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels, to promote mutually beneficial business relationships.

The Project Procurement Manager will coordinate and managing procurement activities with both group companies and third-party suppliers for the purchase of materials, equipment, and service contracts. The role ensures compliance with company policies and procedures while securing high-quality products and services at the most competitive cost for engineered products and projects.

About the Job

  • Implement and execute globally defined sourcing strategies to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships in alignment with Global Commodity Managers.
  • Strengthen the APAC supplier base through local sourcing initiatives and onboard global suppliers as required.
  • Identify and evaluate profitable suppliers, establishing strategic business partnerships that support organizational goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with external vendors to secure the best value for the company.
  • Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier payments, and resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Coordinate and assign RFQs to global group suppliers, ensuring timely receipt of quotations for internal project requirements.
  • Lead tooling and die development activities for new products in collaboration with R&D and Application Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate project transfer activities and ensure effective communication among internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with import/export teams to facilitate smooth customs clearance and international logistics operations.
  • Monitor, track, and report key procurement metrics to improve operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear understanding of technical specifications, quality requirements, and project expectations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for supply contracts, supplier performance, and procurement activities.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives and foster a culture of long-term savings while maintaining quality, delivery, and service standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and supplier performance.

About the Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (B.E.) or Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • 3–4 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain function within a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems; exposure to JD Edwards (JDE) and/or SAP is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and procurement activities.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
