Summary of the Role:
The Human Resources Director oversees multiple manufacturing locations across the United
States and Mexico, directing a team of Human Resources Professionals and collaborating
closely with the management team to facilitate organizational change in support of growth
objectives. This role serves as an advocate for employee engagement and company culture
while ensuring accountability throughout the organisation. Additionally, the Human Resources
Director is responsible for providing coaching, motivation, and inspiration, fostering collaboration
across diverse teams and serving as a catalyst for a thriving workplace culture.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Management Impact: Participate in operations management site meetings as needed to
support local management teams.
- Develop and implement site goals and continuous process improvements.
- Support Management Team initiatives. Participate in strategic planning.
- Team Development: Serve as an HR mentor and resource by providing leadership and advice on HR issues drawing from operation and manufacturing experience in union environment, while sharing expertise to support continuous development of team members.
- Advisory Role: Provide support and advise business leaders.
- Union Relations: Promote effective employer-employee relations with bargaining unit employees by providing direction on contract interpretations and participating in labor negotiations and grievance resolutions including arbitrations with relevant labor representatives and unions.
- Talent Management: Provide strategic leadership in talent management by partnering with managers to develop and implement comprehensive staffing and succession plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Participate in talent calibrations to assess and align workforce capabilities.
- Benefits Administration: Working closely with Trelleborg Group, to assist in delivering consistent annual enrollment options to locations. Serve as a resource for all benefits inquiries including health, dental and life insurance, STD, LTD, FSA, HSA, 401K, holidays and PTO. Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with TSS HR team to develop and administer consistent procedures.
- Systems and Records: Ensure all sites and team members are maintaining employee records, data and reporting with the highest degree of confidentiality and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- HRIS/Reporting: Ensure all sites and team members are maintaining accurate and compliant employee and reporting information in all HR systems and files including ERP system, payroll system, external employee databases like benefits and insurance, and all HR employee databases used to report and support managers and supervisors.
- Employment Law: Stay current on state/federal employment law in the United States and Mexico by participating in continuing education via seminars, industry periodicals and/or peer groups.
- Exercise judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies and all applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to FLSA, NLRA, HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, UI, WC and EEO. Ensure team meets all governmental and company reporting requirements.
- Employee Relations: Serve as point of escalation for employee complaints and investigations.
- Coordinate investigations and make recommendations regarding appropriate resolution. Support supervisors and managers in handling conflict and facilitating difficult conversations.
- Employee Engagement: Proactively solicit feedback from employees at every level of the organization in an effort to develop and maintain a high performing culture.
- Champion the annual engagement survey and develop/implement action plans relevant to the results.
- Drive accountability and a healthy association to conflict. Promote company pride and overall culture with the objective of continually reducing employee turnover while enhancing overall engagement.
- Belonging: Promote diversity as a way to accelerate business. Educate the organization on the benefits of diversity and inclusion.
- Training and Performance Management: Coordinate/develop training plans as needed. Manage annual review process and assist in performance management including both compensation/incentives and warnings/discipline process.

Education and Experience:
Requirements:
- 4-year degree in a Business, Human Resources, Communications or related field
- Minimum of 10 years in Human Resources management related discipline, with demonstrated career progression
- Minimum 5 years experience in leading Human Resources over multiple sites, multi-shift, manufacturing operations & unionized labor force.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Business, HR or related field · First Chair negotiation experience
- PHR or SPHR certification
- Multilingual
