Summary of the Role:
The ITAR Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing all the processes to ensure the organization complies with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This role serves as the primary subject matter expert on export controls, providing leadership, training and guidance across the business to protect controlled technical data, hardware, software and services.
The ITAR Compliance Manager establishes and maintains policies, monitors day-to-day compliance activities, and partners closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, HR, Legal, and Quality to ensure proper handling of U.S. origin defense articles and controlled information. Responsibilities include managing export classifications, screening suppliers and customers, overseeing technology control plans, leading internal audits, supporting government inquiries, and ensuring required registrations and filings are completed accurately and on time. The ITAR Compliance Manager also oversees activities related to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC 2.0) compliance program.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements, and leadership skills to drive a culture of compliance across the organization. The ITAR Compliance Manager acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on export control risks, business impacts, and continuous improvement opportunities. Additionally, this position is responsible for the validating, updating and submittal of required documentation and certifications required for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) Government Sales and Support Group (GSSG) to sufficiently provide products and services to the US Federal, State and Local government agencies.

The implementation, assessment, revision, and management of the company’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Compliance Programs
Act as the SME to TSS to provide guidance concerning the requirements and obligations for handling export-controlled commodities, material, software, technical data, and defense services under the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administrations Regulations (EAR) and CMMC 2.0.
Ensure TSS has the capability to transfer ITAR & CUI restricted information among various divisions as required (Secure Web/Exostar etc.).
Manage users in Trelleborg’s Global Exostar Top Level Site via IT Service Desk functionality.
Ensure compliance with export licenses, filings, and reporting.
Advise on export jurisdiction or classification determinations and conduct departmental training for import/export compliance with various internal/external departments
Successfully execute the assigned goal, targets and tasks (Annual evaluation, and Policy Deployment activities per additional documentation).
Create and execute an audit and inspection program to ensure and validate compliance by the various TSS businesses.
Act as the primary interface between TSS, consultants, and the U.S. Department of State, US Commerce Department and work with the internal departments to ensure that the company’s compliance program is effective throughout the business and supply chains.
Provide recommendations on all aspects of the export compliance programs.
Identify gaps, implement corrective and preventative actions, and monitor ongoing compliance.
Manage subscription requirements to support our compliance programs.
Validate and manage our required government business requirements and documentation, i.e., CCR, ORCA, JPC, Cage Codes, D&B, SAMs etc.,
Work with various teams within TSS to satisfy customer’s certification requests and requirements.
Audit related work instructions and desktop reference materials to validate accuracy and competence.
GSSG Process Auditor, evaluate and certify process documentation and compliance.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on aerospace operations.

The ITAR Compliance Manager position is a US based position
Limited travel requirements will be 0%-20% of the time per year
Travel may be required internationally; candidate must be able to travel outside of the US without restrictions
