This role is responsible for the design and implementation of test methods related to polymer testing in the Materials Laboratory. The incumbent will conduct design of experiments (DOE), analyze and interpret test data, draw meaningful conclusions, and prepare comprehensive final test reports using a variety of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
The position will work as part of a high-performing team to support customer requirements across multiple market segments. A strong understanding of scientific methodologies, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this role.
About the Job
Develop, implement, and manage multiple projects simultaneously by creating project timelines, ensuring adherence to customer requirements, and presenting results to customers.
Design testing methodologies aligned with material development to characterize the physical and thermal properties of polymers.
Perform data analysis and interpret results to support material evaluation and decision-making.
Prepare, develop, implement, and interpret test procedures in accordance with ASTM, customer, and other industry standard specifications.
Conduct and support product failure analysis investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Perform benchmarking activities with other laboratories to verify competency and maintain laboratory accreditation.
Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing testing methodologies, results, and conclusions.
Stay updated on relevant technical developments, including new testing methods and emerging technologies in the market.
Develop new industry test methods where existing standards are not available.
Build technical skills and capabilities to provide support and expertise to team members and other stakeholders.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement, Preventive Action, and Corrective Action initiatives related to testing, reporting, and laboratory management systems.
Ensure general upkeep, organization, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities.
Maintain compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and customer-mandated procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
About the Ideal Candidate
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in science or a Diploma in a relevant scientific field such as Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required.
Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Technical writing skills are required for preparing reports and documentation.
Knowledge or experience in 5S and Lean practices is considered an added advantage.
