Trelleborg Medical Solutions is seeking a Global Forecasting & Demand Planning Manager to join the team. This position will be based in Plymouth, Minnesota, and will follow a hybrid work schedule. This role will be responsible for proactively taking steps to improve visibility of consolidated current and future demand through the internal supply chain.  This role is critical to ensuring on-time supply chain performance while proactively preparing for future demand, ultimately supporting long-term customer satisfaction. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the sales and operations planning process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact to prioritize demand and expediting requests during times of capacity constraints
  • Proactively work with the sales organization to gather reliable forecast data from key customers and then uses that information with the supply chain to ensure consistent sources of supply
  • Proactively work with the Supply Chain Management team to manage work orders and make process improvements

Education and Experience

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or PMI helpful.

Summary of the Job: 

The MPS Supply Planner ensures reliable supply by managing orders, maintaining accurate production schedules, and optimizing inventory levels. Tasks and Responsibilities: 

The MPS Supply Planner can have a variety of tasks and responsibilities that may include but are not limited to: 

  • Participation in Supply Review and contribution to S&OP cycle
  • Track and monitor open Purchase orders
  • Implement and build a feasible MPS (Master Production Schedule) Plan according to an aligned capacity and based on Stock Keeping Unit level, in the given production lead time, releasing orders according to the firm ordering horizon of the manufacturing plants.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels align with production schedules and customer demand while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues or discrepancies
  • Identify and assess risks with the supply chain, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate disruptions such as supply shortages or transportation delays
  • Utilize analytical tools and software to analyze and interpret data related to inventory levels, procurement, production, and distribution
  • Utilize supply chain management software data analytics tools, and other technologies to streamline processes and visibility
  • Review and manage change requests from Sales (Order Enquiry, Quick Seal, Priority and Emergency Request Workflows) and Production (Short term supply issues – materials, machine, absenteeism, etc.)
  • Allow no past dues in the MPS Plans (Backlog Management)
  • Set-up and maintain system parameters to run the system as automatic as possible and to achieve good results
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment with overall business goals, escalations, etc.

About the Job

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Supply Chain Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning and expediting required materials for the production floor to satisfy customer delivery needs while optimizing production efficiencies and inventory investments and will purchase various supplies and equipment for the operation based on established procedures and guidelines. This position works directly with the other supply chain team members and the local operating team to establish priorities to meet forecast plans and current customer demand. In addition, this position will also contribute to the direct scheduling of production machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
  • Track and monitor materials from initial shipment from the supplier to final delivery at the site
  • Monitor and track inventory levels on-hand and on-order, including managing delivery issues through proactive follow-up and escalation
  • Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders for our suppliers
  • Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc. in-line with site and business priorities
  • Tracking production volume, monitoring customer demand patterns, and purchasing trends
  • Liaison between customers, suppliers, and distributors
  • Managing inventory issues, schedules changes, and cancellations
  • Leading problem-solving sessions to determine root cause and countermeasures
  • Preparing cost estimates and performance reports (KPI’s and Metrics)
  • Maintain data/information integrity within the SAP ERP including but not limited to vendor information, purchasing terms, lead times, costs, etc.

  • Creating and maintaining the daily production schedule for each machine at the site according to customer and business needs

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years Material Planning Experience
  • 2+ Years Inventory Management or Purchasing Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

  • Bedienung von Flurförderzeugen (je nach Qualifikation)
